Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch

One of my all time favorite bags is the knot clutch by Bottega Veneta.

It is very popular on the red carpet:

Comes in many different colors and designs:

And is my favorite clutch bag in my own closet:

Madras

Madras is such a wonderful look for the summer.

It is one of those iconic fabrics that look great on adults and children, male and female. It is definitely not for the office. It screams -

"It's the weekend"

I have a matching skirt, shorts and tote from LLBean that get a lot of use when we're boating.

These shoes are from Sperry, wouldn't they would look great with a Shorley Blue top from Lilly?

I just saw a young man wearing this jacket and it is even better in person.

How do you wear madras?

Handbags

I have been sorting through and reorganizing my closet this week.

Here are a few pictures of my newly organized handbags.

I got rid of a lot of boxes as well as a few old bags which meant that I had room for my LV Carryall, jewelry box and makeup bag.

Ahh, nothing says January better than a bit of closet cleaning :-)

Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch

I love bags (and shoes and clothes and jewelry ... but I really LOVE bags).

I have been wanting to get a nice clutch for a while but nothing was catching my attention.

Until finally there was a bag that started catching my attention over and over again...

I loved the satin version but I purchased the Nero Intreccio in black napa leather because I felt that I could use it for both day and evening events.

Rue La La

Be still my beating heart...

CHANEL

will be on Rue La La on April 2nd.

I have no idea what will be on there, but I think we need to check it out. Don't we girls?

Wicker

There is nothing more summery than wicker...

Don't you love the iconic blue lining in this bag from Tiffany....

Wedges by Kate Spade

Summer clothes and accessories are flooding the stores, so now is the time to start deciding what you want/need.

It takes time to build your closet, just as it takes time to furnish your home, but you will make less mistakes, and end up with more items that you love year after year if you take the time to plan what you want to buy before you leave the house.

Pickett - round two!

My daughter and I went shopping in London last Autumn.

We took a stroll down the Burlington Arcade and as usual I stopped to drool over the handbags in Pickett.

I purchased this tan Helen bag. I wanted a larger size than they carry so had it custom made, and then shipped to the US. It only took a few weeks and I love, love, love it!

I bought the same bag last year
in black cherry

Next time you are in London I recommend a trip to the Burlington Arcade, both for the beauty of the Arcade itself, as well as for the luxury shopping it contains.

Talbots

As you know I love a tunic. What could be better for summer than this preppy white eyelet tunic....

I also love this straw clutch

And my favorite item - this belted sheath dress.

Gucci - New Jackie Bag

I am in love with the New Jackie Bag by Gucci.

Don't you just love the tassels!

Gucci New Jackie Bag

I wonder if Milly will fit in it, although she'll probably enjoy chewing the tassels!

Why not start the summer with a new, monogrammed Boat and Tote

Lilly Pulitzer - Mar-a-lago tote

Last summer I bought the Lilly Pulitzer Mar-a-lago tote in patent pink. It really is the perfect sized shoulder bag, so in the winter I added the chocolate suede version to my handbag collection. This is the first time that I have bought the same bag in two different colors!

Unless you count the fact that I have two black Chanel bags, but one had gold hardware, and one has silver, and they're different sizes so it was necessary! Wasn't it?

Burberry

I love Burberry.

It is so easy to build a wardrobe around this check. Just start buying pieces in black, tan, red and white and you can have a pulled together look very easily.

Burberry - the perfect addition to your closet.

Fab Find - Dooney & Bourke Tassel Bag

Isn't this a gorgeous bag? It is available here ...

This is the color I chose......

There are several other pieces in the Amazon line that I think are just gorgeous and I do love the green color of this shopper.

Pickett

When we were in London last November, my husband and I took a stroll down the Burlington Arcade and as usual I stopped to drool over the handbags in Pickett.

Pickett is one of the few shops that carry handbags by Royal Warrant holder Launer, purveyors of the Queen's handbags.

The Launer bags are fabulous, but I purchased the Helen bag made by Pickett in this colour. Love, love, love it!

Next time you are in London I recommend a trip to the Burlington Arcade, both for the beauty of the Arcade itself, as well as for the luxury shopping it contains.
