Items such as rings and earrings are very small and easily lost.
A lot of jewelry is delicate and easily broken so one needs to think about how to pack these small treasures.
I never put my jewelry in bags that will be checked. Its just not worth the risk, and it really doesn't take up much room.
I find that the best way to pack my jewelry is in a small travel sized box designed for that purpose.
There are a lot of beautiful options in the stores and these are some of my favorites...
This beautiful blue box comes from Pickett in London. They are one of my favorite stores and do ship outside of the UK.
All so pretty....I have a jewelry roll similiar to the Tiffany one that does the trick..I also bring less jewelry than ever before when I go away...after one visit resulted in a few lost pieces..made me scared, so now I travel almost all with fun replacable costume jewelry.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your lost jewelry. I'm sure that was very upsetting for you.
ReplyDeleteWhen I moved to the US one of the things that never showed up was my jewelry box, and I was so devastated to lose so many family pieces that had been handed down to me. I don't travel with too much, but I like to wear bracelets and they just won't fit into a roll! I'm looking forward to my next trip, I can't wait to try out my new Monte Carlo.
:-)
I love the personalized one - I've been looking for something like that!
ReplyDeleteWhen you decide to get rid of some of the Louis Vuitton for closet cleaning, feel free to send it my way. :) I'm not too proud to take Louis Vuitton hand me downs. :)
